Healing Justice Through Ubuntu
African feminist entity advancing access to justice to women and structurally excluded persons through full-circle, people-centred justice solutions.
Full-Circle Justice
We combine legal support, socio-economic remedies, and healing justice practices to restore dignity and hope.
Theory of Change
UBUNTU provides accessible legal services including litigation, representation, legal aid and strategic litigation, healing and gender justice interventions including psychosocial support, trauma-informed spaces, community outreaches, legal education and training, mobilisation, advocacy and norm-shifting initiatives that empower affected constituencies.
Communities are supported to organise, participate and advocate safely, survivors are treated holistically (legal, emotional, material needs), harmful norms are challenged, and duty-bearers are engaged and UBUNTU continues to operate sustainably, and with a strong governance system.
More of our communities will access justice, redress and healing, cases that shape legal precedent will strengthen protections, communities will become more resilient, knowledgeable and engaged and harmful societal norms will be challenged and begin to shift, UBUNTU’s long-term presence will ensure continuity, trust, and durable impact.
